*Lead-in: Use Flashcards 55–59 to present the vocabulary.rice, meat, carrots, yogurt, bread -Hold them up one at a time and say the words for students to repeat. Hold the flashcards up in a different order to elicit the words. -Put the students in a circle with the flashcards in the middle. Explain you are going to call out a word and they should run to that flashcard as quickly as they can. -Call out a word, e.g. rice. The first student who reaches that flashcard and says the word takes it and gives it to you. -Repeat with one of the remaining words. -Continue calling out the words until you have said all the food words. -Evaluating students’ pronunciation. Expected outcomes and assessment-Task completed with excellence:Students can pronounce the words correctly and fluently. -Task completed:Students can pronounce the words. -Task uncompleted: Students are unable to pronounce the words. *Listen and point. This time they can point to the correct flashcards when they hear the words. -Repeat (more than once if necessary). -Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm of the chant. -Praise students if they have done well. *Game: Draw a healthy foodE.g. rice, meat, fish, yogurt, carrots, bread -Ask each student to draw and color a lunch using only healthy food, using the suggestions on the board, or their ideas while listening to music. -When the music stops, they must stand up, move around the room, and talk to friends about their lunch, e.g. My lunch is rice and meat. -Praise students if they have done well. Expected outcomes and assessment-Task completed with excellence:Students can draw a picture about healthy food nicely. -Task completed:Students can draw a picture about healthy food. -Task uncompleted: Students are unable to draw a picture about healthy food. |
- Draw and color a lunch using only healthy food, using the suggestions on the board, or their ideas while listening to music. -Stand up, move around the room, and talk to friends about their lunch. |
